It would appear in recent days that this ongoing scam may have contacted several residents in the area.
If you have received this scam. Do not respond to any messages and do not provide any information over the phone.
Similar scams have circulated through Inverell before. New England Police warned of an aggressive phone scam in April, in which scammers claiming to be from the ATO told recipients they had a warrant for their arrest.
All suspected scams should be reported to SCAMWATCH via their website or by calling 1300 765 995.
