Belgian families have been 'adopting' the graves of Inverell soldiers to take care of them on behalf of their local relatives.

While locals were commemorating the centenary of Armistice Day, on the other side of the world one of our Inverell Remembers street flags flew at Toronto Cemetery, south of Ypres and near Comines in Belgium, in honour of our district soldiers buried there.
