Inverell Shire Council mayor Paul Harmon is calling on locals to attend and experience the glittering moment when the switch is flipped to turn on the tree lights.
“We’ve seen the Christmas tree and street decorations popping up this week in the CBD and Inverell is ready to usher in the festive season”.
“With the Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas lights competition kicking off after 1 December, I expect the Inverell CBD will be looking spectacular again this year”.
Sapphire City Festival Queen and local music identity Jemima McLachlan will provide live entertainment leading up to the moment the tree will be lit at 8pm.
As in previous years, a special guest from Brighter Access will take the honours of turning on the switch.
Residents are encouraged to bring along a chair or a picnic and enjoy a free family friendly evening.
