The Liberal Nationals Government is funding up to 50 per cent of costs for successful projects from a pool of $150,000 in each electorate, including the New England.
Mr Joyce said it was very satisfying to announce $10,000 for Gwydir and Macintyre Resources Management (GWYMAC) Inc Landcare to build new amenities at the community gardens in Inverell.
“Inverell Community Gardens provide such a great respite and education for some of the most important members of the local community,” Mr Joyce said.
“We are very happy to support this outstanding project with $10,000 so they continue this great work and build new office and storage amenities at their new site in Inverell.”
This grant follows the approval of $1million in Federal Government funding for drought relief measures in Inverell including infrastructure upgrades and a tourism marketing strategy.
This follows the official opening in Inverell of the federally-funded Hector Virtual Reality (VR) Driving Simulator for Older Drivers at McLean Care; the announcement of $2.5 million in Federal Government funding to support an upgrade of Inverell Regional Livestock Exchange and more than $35,000 for Inverell Shire Council to engage an independent consultant to develop a Cultural and Arts Strategic Plan.
