The gallery is thrilled to host Colour 11: Merv Moriarty, In the Field, which is on show until Friday, March 1, and are inviting locals and art lovers to two special events connected to the exhibition.
Mervyn is giving an artist’s talk at the gallery from 1pm on Saturday, February 23. A free event, light lunch will be provided.
The following day budding artists can learn about colour relationships at a masterclass. Participants will explore the link between colour mixing and colour relationship using their own works as a reference. Artists will be guided in this workshop to release the full potential in their subject. In the field or still life, how to begin making clear decisions about colour and hue, seeking the perfect balance between seeing everything that is there and selecting only what you want to use.
Held at the Texas Golf Club from 10am-4pm on Sunday, February 24, the cost of the class in $30, and material lists are available upon request.
