A free event hosted by the combined churches of Inverell, participants also prayed for farmers and businesses, families, marriages under stress, politicians and aid agencies.
"It was particularly moving, and (a) well put together meeting," Judy Bloomfield said.
"I'm sure everyone went away feeling that we'd made contact with our God, and we went away reassured that our prayers will be answered in his good time."
Salvation Army Majoy Kaye Townsend was pleased to see so many people come along.
"Everybody said how they felt God’s presence in the room and how they were all given hope and encouragement. We’re just waiting for it to rain now," she said.
Senator John 'Wacka' Williams, independent New England candidate Adam Blakester and deputy mayor Anthony Michael were all there to show their support.
Mr Michael was pleased to see how all the churches came together for a single purpose, and praised the Danthonia community for their involvement in supplying the afternoon tea.
The Inverell Minister's Fellowship are considering adding the communal prayer meeting to their calendar as a regular event. The Salvation Army also hosts a town wide prayer meeting at the church in Vivian Street from 7am on the final Wednesday of every month. All are welcome.
