Store owners Michelle and Greg Cannon offered a $50 gift voucher for the best dance in an effort to add a fun element to the promotion.
An enthusiastic Lyn Hill turned out to be the most persuasive - doing her prayer inspired dance just one hour before 31.8 mm fell on Thursday afternoon, March 7.
"That was an easy one to pick the winner," Greg said.
"I saw the sign and thought 'only God can make it rain, but I can give a reminder of all the prayers that have gone up from the whole area recently,'" Lyn said. Over 300 locals gathered in the Town Hall on Sunday March 1, to pray for rain, as part of a combined churches event.

The rain dance competition is ongoing.
"If we can get another 30 mm, any time they can come in for a dance," Greg said.
