The pair charmed locals this time last year, alongside baritone José Carbó in a much-anticipated concert. The Inverell Music Appreciation Group Inc are proud to support the guitarists again as they bring their project Alchemy to the local Art Gallery at 7pm on Saturday, March 30.

Andrew and Ariel have been playing as a guitar duo since 2014, and have travelled eastern Australia, toured New Zealand and joined soprano Deborah Humble on stage at the Newcastle Music Festival.

Alchemy is billed as a 'world tour' for guitar duets, featuring pieces from France, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, USA and Australia. It is named for the first piece the duo played together, by late Australian guitar legend Phillip Houghton, and will include Houghton's famous Three Duets piece.

Making his solo debut at the Sydney Opera House in just 2017, Andrew has already had a whirlwind career; working as a concerto soloist in Nigel Westlake's Antarctica Suite with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra, releasing a Spanish guitar music CD, touring Europe and giving masterclasses at the Festival Guitarra Maestro Joaquin Rodrigo.

Ariel's career has been similarly diverse, from collaborating with clarinet-guitar ensemble Duo Divan, to taking part in the Llewellyn Quartet's opera production of Dido and Aeneas. A graduate of Timothy Kain's renowned Australian National University guitar class, Ariel completed with first-class honours before being accepted into a PhD program.  

Tickets for Alchemy will be available at the door, and are $25 for adults and $5 for school students.
