Inverell's New England Rural Crime Prevention Team are on the hunt for 70 sheep believed to have been stolen from a property west of Uralla.

The missing sheep were part of a mob of 798 and have disappeared since December last year.
Purchased from two different mobs, the first have blue star brand on their back and an ear mark of a half penny out of the top of the nearside ear, with a key way out of the point of the ear.
The second mob have an upside down J out of the bottom of the offside ear.
With a distinctive slash out of the top and bottom of the offside ear, the 2016-2017 drop Merino wethers were due to be sheared in June. The sheep also carry an NLIS tag with the PIC Number NF021072.
Some of the missing sheep are from two different mobs. One mob has a blue star brand on their back and an ear mark of a half penny on the top of the nearside ear, with a 'key way' out of the point of the ear. The first mob have have an NLIS tag with the PIC Number NF020643.
The second mob have a upside down J taken from the bottom of the offside ear and have an a NLIS tag with the PIC Number NJ022902.
The Rural Crime Prevention Team are currently investigating the disappearance and want more information. They would like to speak with anyone with information on the missing sheep or on anyone who has been spotted acting suspiciously in or around Balala Road or Kingstown Road at Balala.
Farmers are encouraged to report all stock theft immediately, regardless of the numbers missing.
