An iconic local building, Inverell Club members have been hard at work this year maintaining the 110 year-old Evans Street building, with support from the Inverell Shire Council's Local Heritage Fund.

The club have matched the support from the council with a "million hours" of volunteer labour in a program of continuous maintenance on the heritage building.
Club president, Dayne Rosolen said the program was "focused on repair and replacement, especially in areas where water may enter the building".
The club used the grant funding to employ Mark Warrener from Blue Door Constructions, who replaced water-damaged timber over the gables and sealed a troublesome water leak around an upper level lead light window.
Dayne also expressed his thanks to the Inverell Shire Council for their support, noting that the Inverell Club is a community owned facility and an important heritage building within the Evans Street "cultural precinct".
The club annually hosts their Antiques and Collectables Auction in the building on the first Saturday after Easter and the celebration of local food and produce; Eat, Drink, Live New England, in November.
