Delungra's Family Fun Day and Movie Night will be funded by the federal government's Drought Community Program in an effort from the Inverell Shire Council to make life easier for families struggling with the drought.
Kicking off at 2pm with a variety of activities, everyone is sure to find something to enjoy.
Parents can rejoice in this free and fun event, which will keep the young ones away from thoughts of boredom.
From barefoot bowls for the grown ups to ten pin bowling for the youngsters, there will be something for all ages.
Kids can enjoy face painting and a jumping castle.
While kids are getting a sugar high, parents can delight in a free barbecue at 7pm, plus a bar.
Attendees are reminded to bring a chair and blanket in order to sit back and cozy up with a blanket while watching Tad the Lost Explorer and the Secret of King Midas. Don't forget that popcorn.
The council was given $1 million late last year from the Drought Communities Program to put towards the town, events and support drought affected families.
Funding became available to farmers, farm workers and contractors facing hardship.
The funds will go towards supporting local infrastructure, projects, and communities.
