Hosted by Inverell Veteran Golfers, players were treated to clear skies while taking the drought-affected course "in their stride".
Players fully appreciated the trying times Inverell has been through in the last 12 months and had nothing but praise for the quality of the greens, which are a credit to head green keeper, Ben Watling.
Over 120 golfers, 12 of whom were over 80 years of age, from 33 golf clubs participated in a great week of golf and fellowship.
The 36-hole championship was keenly contested over Monday and Wednesday while players enjoyed a relaxing round under blue skies on Thursday before players and partners attended the Presentation Luncheon in the afternoon.
"We had twenty players visiting for the first time and many stated "what a great town. We are blown away by the towns presentation, friendliness and attractions," tournament director Jim Shadlow said.
Mr Shadlow praised the response from local business houses to sponsor the event.
"This helped to make it a tremendous success."
Visitors were outspoken in their praise for the tournament and town and vowed to return when a similar event is staged in two years.
