Competing for a spot in round three of the state-wide knockout competition, Macintyre High School and Holy Trinity were both determined.
From the first whistle, both teams fought it out in a tight match, however Macintyre came out in front 1-0.
Macintyre High School's Nick McLoughlin was proud of the sportsmanship and effort of his side.
"Great passing from Joffiah Blair gave Charlie Baker the honour of scoring Macintyre's winning goal.
The last four minutes of the game were nail-biting as Holy Trinity threw everything they had to equalise the score.
"Jarred White, the Macintyre goal keeper, and a tenacious defensive effort by the Macintyre boys, kept Trinity on their toes and from scoring," he said.
Played in good spirits at the Inverell sporting complex, both teams showcasing their skills and sportsmanship.
Macintyre now progresses to round three this term with their next opponent to be Armidale Secondary College.
"An exciting time for Macintyre as this is the first time in many years, they have progressed to round three. Well done to both teams for an excellent game."
