Within a time frame of eight weeks, Karen Fraser has found two rescue horses in her care slain.
Whilst mourning her losses, the Bundarra resident has found further evidence of cruel acts carried out on her other horses and has even had riding gear stolen.
"My beautiful black and white mare that's been part of the family for 13 years was found dead. I had two stock-men go over her body who found no snake bites or natural causes of death," she said.
Wanting to make the community aware of her situation, Karen believes the deaths were premeditated by a person/s.
Blood drips were found on the wall of a garden shed where the mare was found dead, and close by Karen located horse needles with a white substance inside.
"Her carcass was too deteriorated by the time a vet came out to the property, where I pay agistment, to determine a cause of death."
Four days after the mare died, Karen found uncooked barley in her water trough describing the feed as "something you wouldn't even feed to bulls".
A month later another of her horses went missing. The horse was later found dead, with a missing ear and eye.
"This was a rescue horse I was looking after for a dear friend suffering from the drought. You could see she had rope tied around her neck and there's no way an animal could have done that- the ear was clearly cut."
To make matters worse, Karen has since found big rocks and bricks in her paddock, noticing marks on other horses.
"They've been throwing things at the horses while they're in the paddock. No one touches my horses, they're like family. You can even feel the lumps where they've been hit."
Karen has since organised a truck to move her horses out of Bundarra as she feels they are no longer safe.
A NSW Police spokesperson said inquiries were continuing.
"Circumstances surrounding the death of the horses is still unknown but police do not believe this is a random incident."
