Bundarra Golf Club and Bundarra Lions Club attempted to host the first event on March 30, however some welcomed rain saw the day rescheduled.

Golf Club president Peter Gregory said a round of golf was still played in March once clouds cleared and the sun came out.

"We still decided to reschedule to raise more funds on April 27. We had 13 players, we hoped to have more support but we ended up raising $3000," he said.

On Friday, funds raised from players' entry fee, an auction and raffles was donated to BlazeAid.

A BlazeAid camp was established in Inverell to rebuild hundreds of kilometres of fence line destroyed by the Tingha Plateau Fire in February.

Camp coordinator Tony Samuel thanked both Bundarra clubs and the general community for their support.

"This donation helps to support the purchase of posts and wire for fences. We then donate that to the properties we're working on. We've got 48 properties registered and I think we've completed around 26," he said.

Mr Gregory said BlazeAid was doing a great job helping farmers. Auction and raffle prizes were donated by businesses from both Bundarra and Inverell communities.

Around 115 volunteers have come through the Inverell BlazeAid camp since being set up. Currently in their 10^th week, BlazeAid will cease fencing on August 18.

From then on volunteers will strip and re-pack trailers and containers to be sent to the next disaster relief camp.

"We have to thank all the people who've come together and embraced BlazeAid. We've got five star meals coming in here. The general community has just really helped out, shop keepers and all."

Mr Gregory also thanked community members and players for supporting the charity days at Bundarra.

"We know people are doing it hard at the moment with the drought. Considering conditions we raised a lot of money and without those supporters we wouldn't have been able to."

A big thank you was also sent to Bundarra advocate Monte from 2NZ for his continuous support.
