Community College Northern Inland celebrated the commencement of works at its new educational campus in Inverell's town centre.
College executive and trainers were excited to meet with local dignitaries at the new premises, which will become a hub for the town's students and the broader rural community.
"As Inverell Community College continues to grow and expand into new academic program areas, the need for additional space for students and staff is also growing," said executive officer Alison Heagney.
"By relocating to this important property, Community College is demonstrating our continued commitment to the town of Inverell and to our shared development as an organisation and a community.
"When it opens later this year, the Inverell campus will transform skills-based education for the next generation of students.
"Over the coming months, we'll engage the community to learn more about what educational services are important to you and provide more information about the project.
"We want you to be proud to call our campus your educational home."
The 668-square-metre facility is set to open in summer 2019. The new campus will be located in Lawrence Street, on the site of the former Mitre 10 building.
The new college will offer state-of-the-art information technology facilities, training rooms, study spaces and a multi-purpose area, as well as dedicated parking right in the centre of town.
The refit of the building has been designed by Abode Building Design in conjunction with local builder McMahon Structural.
