A two-week break didn't halt the club's momentum, bouncing back from a last start defeat at the hands of the Gunnedah Bulldogs in the 30-22-202 to 3-5-23 win.

The Saints were right on top from the get go and never took their foot off the pedal, holding the Suns scoreless in the opening goal while piling on seven of their own.

Their dominance continued in the second quarter, their midfield running rampant as they added another nine goals to go into half time with a 16-12-108 to 1-1-7 lead.

With such a big lead, the Saints would've been forgiven for letting up in the second half but they went on to kick another seven goals in each of the last two quarters, breaking the 200-mark for the first time this season.

More than half of Inverell's players kicked a goal, with 14 Saints adding to the scoreboard in the big win.

Lachie White kicked six goals while Tyler Desborough, Hayden Chappel, Joseph Kimmince and Keiran Te Velde all added three apiece.

Chappel was named best on ground while Desborough and Joshua Desborough-Graham were also strong in a big win that improves an already impressive percentage, which could end up being the difference between a first or second placed finish at the end of the regular season.

The win takes them to second place on the ladder, their only loss coming against the undefeated Bulldogs in Gunnedah by just 11 points.

The Saints boast the superior percentage, however, and still have another game to play against the Bulldogs, this time at home, in a game that could decide who finishes as minor premiers.

For now, the Saints will now look ahead to their next clash at home against the Tamworth Swans, who currently sit in fourth position.

The last time the two sides faced the Saints were pushed right to the end, a strong final quarter the difference in the 34-point win, but at home the Saints should have plenty of confidence, particularly after last weekend's performance.
