Cold temperatures have caused hoses to freeze up and shoot out homemade ice cubes, bird baths frozen solid and water drops to form ice shards.
Inverell Elders Weather says temperatures hit a low of 1 degrees this morning and estimates tops of 16 degrees later today.
Tomorrow's outlooks will see temps drop to 2 degrees before slowly rising to 15 degrees. However, on Thursday residents should rug up.
Temperatures will drop to -1 degrees before reaching a top of 17. Saturday should bring a low of 2 degrees and a top of 19.
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday will bring lows of 4 degrees but are forecast to reach tops of 19-21 degrees.
