Inverell Legacy and it's groups are aiming to raise over $20,000 during Legacy Week to help the families of Australian's that have lost their lives as a result of war, peace keeping, humanitarian and training operations.

Locally supporting 130 adults and nine children, aged from 18 months to 14 years, Inverell Legacy will continue to provide support and assistance to these children until they complete their education, including tertiary or vocational courses.
At a minimum, Legacy will be required to support these children for the next 19 years. During Legacy Week (September 1-7), merchandise will be available at various businesses in Inverell and surrounding towns.
Inverell Legacy is an independent club, all money raised in the Inverell area is used in the Inverell area, no money donated by members of the public is sent to other Legacy clubs.
Their area includes the towns of Ashford, Bingara, Bonshaw, Bundarra, Croppa Creek, Delungra, Elsmore, Gilgai, Gravesend, Gum Flat, Inverell, Mt Russell, North Star, Nullamanna, Oakwood, Stannifer, Texas, Tingha, Warialda and Yetman.

Legacy volunteers will be clearly identified with a blue Legacy lanyard and bright yellow authority to collect card. Prior to Legacy Week, the group will be judging an Inverell Legacy Poster competition.
This is a free local competition for primary school students that commenced in 2014. Last year they received 680 entries.
