It was a packed house, with family members and past members adding to the day, with their encouragement. We began with a delicious lunch, followed by the formal ceremony.
However, the formality was sometimes set aside, as the members shared fun and laughter together throughout the proceedings.
Special awards were presented to those who had played significant roles in the club during the year.
The outgoing executive was honoured, and the new executive was then announced and inducted into their roles. David Maddigan, Area Director for Toastmasters, was the MC.
New executive members read out their own tasks in each specific role, and were welcomed to the team with great encouragement from the rest of the club.
The new executive team consists of Carol South, Linda Tighe, Marie Ward with deputy Carol Champion, Heather Kerridge, Ros Scoble, Jean Bell, Peter Champion and Sue Willcocks.
The four core values of Toastmasters, integrity, respect, service and excellence, were all observed, and the flavour of the Changeover was joy, encouragement and camaraderie.
The Inverell Breakfast Toastmasters' Club welcomes all who would like to come and see what we do. If you would like to know more, email: invbreakie@hotmail.com.
