Inverell East Rotary have opened entries for their 10^th annual Inverell's Got Talent production on Friday, October 25.

The free-to-enter competition will offer more than $2,500 in prizes with a new section for 'best original song' in 2019.

Inverell East Rotary publicity officer Don Learmonth said the successful event has grown from strength to strength throughout the past decade.

"We've had a range of performers throughout the years from singers to dancers. We normally have about 30 entries that then gets cut to 20-25 for the finals."

Entry forms are available at all schools, Inverell Tourist Information Centre or online at www.inverelleastrotary.org.au.

The junior section is open to youngsters from Years 5 to 8. All other entrants will be placed in the open section.

Entries will close on October 11 with auditions being held on Thursday, October 17 from 4pm until 9pm. Three Rotary judges will have the hard task of choosing finalists.

"Chris Richter had a lot to do with the new section being added in. He attended a meeting and suggested adding in a prize for 'best original song'.

"It was agreed on and later Beechwood Studios in Armidale came on board to sponsor a free recording session for the winner valued at $500," he said.

Tickets for Inverell's Got Talent will go on sale from October 1 at the Tourist Information Centre or online at www.trybooking.com/538703.

Residents are invited to head along to support the talented, local finalists as they perform for a panel of outside judges.

Town Hall ticket prices are set at $15 for an adult, $10 for a secondary student and $5 for all other minors.

"One of our three judges for the night will be Mel Dyer who will hopefully also perform on the night. It's always a big night of entertainment."
