Nine regional associations in NSW entered teams of eight or nine players to compete in the full round-robin tournament over three days.
North West School Sports coordination officer Richard Rowlings said the open-aged competition involved secondary girls from Year 7 up to Year 12 who'd been selected through trials by their association as a representative.
Starting on Tuesday, every match involved four doubles and eight single games. Finals took place mid-morning on Thursday with North Coast named champions.
Riverina followed in second place and South Coast finished third.
The North West team which encompassed players from Moree, Tamworth, Armidale, Gunnedah and Glen Innes finished eighth.
The state competition has been running for more than 35 years, each year a merit team is selected.
"There's been a lot of good tennis played over the three days, and a lot of talented athletes out on the court. The best player in each position gets chosen for a merit team," he said.
The 2019 merit team includes: Player one Tianna McGarvie of North Coast, player two Taya Powell of North West, player three Narissa Dunston of North Coast, player four Emilia Cvetkovic of South Coast, player five Chelsea McGrath of Riverina, player six Hilton Kennedy of Sydney North, player seven Rahni McGrath of North Coast, player eight Ana Castrissios of South Coast and two player nines Stevie McDonagh of Hunter and Abbey Scolamiero of South Coast.
Mr Rowlings acknowledged the support of Inverell Tennis Club in running the massive three-day carnival.
"They've been tremendous, the amount of volunteers they have over here and their hospitality has been incredible. It's good to be able to bring a tournament like this to a country area.
"We wouldn't have been able to run the championships without the support of the local club and their facilities here are great. This is a facility in our association that has the most courts which allows us to hold big events."
