Evelyn Quinn was born at Bunnan NSW on June 12, 1925 to Mary Bennet and Alf Palmer and was one of five children.
During her childhood the family lived on various properties in the Scone region. After the war Mum met and married Frank Quinn on January 18, 1947 and settled in Scone, they had seven children.
In 1948 Dad left the railway and started work at Glenbourne Dam, then known as Burrendong Dam, Wyangala Dam and in 1970 moved to Pindari Dam as officer in charge.
Whilst there Mum and Dad were able to enjoy their love of nature together. Sadly, Dad passed away on December 5, 1977.
Mum moved to Inverell and purchased her first home at 32 Urabatta Street and lived there until her passing on October 9, 2011.
During this time Mum made the house into a wonderful home where family and friends were greeted with warmth and love, and shared many meals together.
Mum had an outstanding memory and if you needed to know any family history she was the one you went to.
Mum knitted all her life and lovingly supplied many generations with beautiful items. Travel was a great joy in Mum's life.
She ventured to all parts of Australia and was a wonderful photographer. Mum was a much valued member of Legacy, torchbearers and Lorrel clubs.
She always looked to the positives in life and had many achievements.
She was a philanthropist, the official photographer for Legacy and patron of torchbearers. However, the accomplishments of which Mum was most proud was her family, five generations in all.
Regardless of the difficulty she may have been experiencing at the time, Mum always found a way to smile.
She was a most wonderful person, she loved all her family and was there to help all. She is most loved and dearly missed.
