For the first time one of the richest races in the world, Sydney's $14 million Everest will be run on the same day as Melbourne's $5 million Caulfield Cup.
Inverell will be a small player on the day that sees more prize money to be won than any other day in the history of racing with race goers able to share the live action on track and enjoy the TV coverage of the big races.
Scone trainer Brett Cavanough is the current champion country trainer in NSW and will be saddling a runner in the $1.3 million Kosciuszko for country horses at Randwick but he will also send a team of runners to Inverell for the first time.
Cavanough trained the winners of 63 races last season, has over 100 horses in his stable and will have horses in every race at Inverell.
There are 53 runners on the five race card with local horses set to repel the Cavavough challenge in the Thomas Davis Brown 1100m Handicap.

Luke Berger's Mellore won the ninth race of her career at Bundarra but will face stiff opposition from Al Foran's genuine mare Ruby Two Shoes who has been near the money in harder races at TAB meetings.
Todd Payne's Newcastle Dancer, who won this race last year in class record time, is also in the race and has a recent win at Barraba before an unplaced run behind Mellore at Bundarra.
Col's Tiger broke through for a win at the August meeting at Inverell and Cabriere, previously trained by Richard Freedman in Sydney, is a recent addition to Nathaniel Scott's stable.
The Sutton Insurance Brokers 1400m Handicap sees Todd Payne's Semtex back up after a big win at Bundarra. Semtex burst on the scene last year with a slashing second in the Don Bartlett Battlers Cup but lost form over the summer. Saturday's race is run under different conditions to the Bundarra race but Semtex won by over five lengths and gave his rivals a dusting on the firm track.
Inverell's track is in perfect condition after a team effort by a roster of trainers and volunteers to apply extensive irrigation around the clock prior to the recent rain.
Gates open at 11.30 with the first local race at 2pm, the Everest is run at 4.15pm and the Caulfield Cup at 5.15pm.
Admission is free with a Holy Trinity Art union ticket and children's rides and entertainment are free.
