Inverell Art Prize open section winner Graeme Compton will give talks inside the gallery at 11.30am and 12.30pm.
Graeme's Art Prize entry 'The Elephantini Marriage' won first prize of the open section and was one of many crowd favourites.
He will share his story of being an artist growing up in the bush around Narrabri. Graeme has drawn pictures since childhood.
Apart from his fascination with elephants and fantasy art, he has become a well-known portrait artist and illustrator of children's books, having illustrated fifteen books since 2013, with the sixteenth on its way.
He has twice been a finalist for portraiture in the Mortimer Prize for Realism (2011- 2012) and received Grand Champion award for his work 'Egret on Tap' in the Gunnedah Art Exhibition 2013.
In 2019 Graeme received a second prize in the Frost Over Barraba 2019 Open Section. The talk is free by entry to the gallery is by donation.
Between 10am and 12pm, kids are invited to take part in free a free pottery workshop in the side courtyard, next to the gallery.
The mud club will encourage youngsters to create an amazing clay masterpiece. Children under seven are asked to be accompanied by an adult.
