Having recently set up collection bins at the entrance of IGA and Woorthworths, a variety of food, as well as bathroom and laundry products, have been donated.
Inverell Lions Club president Tom Cattell said Big W contacted the club offering to act as a donation point for a collection bin.
"We now have three bins set up. We ask residents if they could donate one or two items each week from their grocery list because the need from our local farmers and graziers is growing by the day with the never ending dry," he said.
The Lions Sapphire City Markets will continue as a collection site with a cash donation bucket on the first and third Sunday of the month. Next month, they'll do the first, second and third Sunday.
"All the cash collected is used to purchase more food. We also ask that members of the public inform as many farmers as possible of this service," Mr Cattell said.
Farmers and graziers can collect free food and toiletries from 64 Ring Street, Inverell at the Scottish Pipe Band Hall every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am until 12pm.
All that is asked, is for farmers and graziers to bring their Rural Rate Board notice as correct identification. Lions signs will be displayed when the hall is open.
For more information text, or phone and leave details, to Sapphire City Market coordinator Philip on 0477 520 721.
For those unable to donate to the collection bins, or make the markets, the Inverell Lions Club is accepting direct debits.
