Supported by Inverell Shire Council through the NSW Government Youth Opportunities Program, children had a great day out on the track.
Inverell Mountain Bike Club secretary Michelle Rees said youngsters participated in skills training by tackling the see-saws, balance beams and off-drops.
"They went riding around the tracks at the park. I think they enjoyed the tracks and had fun riding over the see-saws. A lot of the kids hadn't been out to the track so it was great for them to see what we are building out there," she said.
As part of the event, two fantastic mountain bikes were up for grabs. Two lucky locals Charlotte and Jacob were named winners and were absolutely thrilled.
Rees said the club gave away 10 year-long Mountain Bike Australia memberships along with some Merida tee-shirts and jumpers.
"It was great to see the kids become more familiar with the tracks so they feel confident to go out and use the facilities," she said.
The club thanked Inverell Shire Council and the Youth Opportunities Program for their assistance in supporting the day.
Rees said social rides are held at the track each Thursday from 5.30pm.
