After launching their annual Christmas Toy Drive in November, 2NZ and Gem FM have welcomed a consistent stream of donations.
2NZ breakfast host James 'Monte' Irvine was pleased with the toys and books collected from the Ashford, Glen Innes and Inverell areas.
"Again the community has responded brilliantly. We have a donation point at Ashford, they bought in a box full of toys on Friday.
"We went out to GLENRAC in Glen Innes and filled the car up with toys and we've been getting a lot of donations here at the station."
With less than two weeks to go until the drive ends for 2019, toys and books for teenagers are being encouraged.
With the help of Rural Outreach, Inverell and Glen Innes Homelessness Support Service and GLENRAC, the donations will be distributed to local families just in time for Christmas.
"We all get very excited when donations come through the door. We were getting one or two donations a day at the start. Now it's four of five times a day and not just one toy either," he said.
Monte was pleased many residents who donated were creative, and generous, with toy and book ideas.
He emphasised the idea behind the drive was to assist families impacted by the drought and individuals doing it tough across the listening area to brighten their Christmas.
"None of these toys and books leave our listening area. They will all go to a local home who will cherish and appreciate the gesture."
