On Field One Square and Compass took on the mighty RSM side. RSM won the toss and elected to bat.
Charles Turnbull and Tom Taylor were the biggest run scorers under the stormy clouds. Kirby Fuller played extremely until being dismissed on his second last ball. S&C's bowlers were ruthless with Howie Eastwood taking charge with wickets. Noah Grob, Dan Bell and Nico Alliston all took well deserved wickets.
In reply, Charles Turnbull took a classic catch diving off to his right at Wicket Keeper to try and stem S&C's flow of runs, in addition to taking a wicket off his own bowling. Kirby and John Bailey also managed a wicket as well.
Fergus Roger and Howie set up a fine start and Dan Bell continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Oliver Spicer played an excellent innings being unbeaten with the bat. Dan Bell pocketed the match ball.
Field Two saw Campbell & Freebairn play Staggy Creek. C&F's Myles Doman hit the first four of his campaign to add valuable runs.
Barnaby Munro and Sam Burns also found the boundary and Noah Pay was unbeaten at the change. Staggy's George Taylor took a wicket as did Josh Cathie then Zac Riley managed two wickets for twelve off two overs.
Staggy then grabbed the bats and proceeded to chase down 90 runs. Rocco Eastwood, Zac Riley, Josh Cathie and Oliver Sutton, who smashed a superb four, were all retired and George Taylor was not out.
Even with so many retiring the side fell just short of victory by 11 runs.
Leo Eastwood took the valuable first wicket in the opening over and John Bailey orchestrated a run out off his own bowling. Noah was very economical with the ball.
Staggy's Zac Riley won the match ball.
