The project was made possible by a grant from Women NSW and the support of a huge number of local support services and businesses.
Those included Tamworth Family Support Service, Rural Outreach and Support Services, Settlement Services International, BEST, Inverell Art Gallery, McLean Care and Community Health, Nick King's Lifestyle Centre and Funki Munki.
"Similar to the Humans of New York project, the Women of Inverell project aims showcase the diversity, resilience and power of local women by giving them an opportunity to be photographed and tell their story to us, including their experiences as women of Inverell," Em Williams, of Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service New England, said.
The project involves, just to name a few, local Aboriginal Elders, young women, women with disability, business owners, community advocates and leaders, and farmers.
Talented photographer Simon Scott has been capturing the images, and personalities, of these amazing women.
The project will open on Friday, March 6 at the Inverell Art Gallery with an exhibition between 5pm and 7pm, and the photographs and stories will remain on display until March 13.
"Entry to the event on March 6 is free, and we encourage everyone to come along to support the participants and project, and to see how many different and incredible women make up our community," she said.
