The Inverell Show has come and gone for another year and despite still battling a tough drought, the community came out in waves to support the annual event.

There was plenty of entertainment on offer for the whole family, including the pavilions, demolition derby, Campdraft, petting zoos, the stockman's challenge and more.
"It was very successful. We were all very pleased with the end result," Inverell Show Society president Jodie Burtenshaw said.
"It was a lot better than we even though it could be, given the drought and the economic climate."
Mr Burtenshaw believed the numbers were on par with last year, which is a fantastic achievement given last year's show included free entry.
"We did reduce the price [this year] to make it more affordable and it seems to be a success," he said.
"The town came out and supported their show well and truly and they've been supporting it ever since we started planning because we got a lot of sponsorship.
"Considering, when you think about what the town has been through, the town and the townspeople and the businesses have been very supportive.
"We are very happy with the outcome."
Emily Adams was named the 2020 Inverell Showgirl while Raylee Adams was the runner-up.
While there was no shortage of exciting activities on offer throughout the weekend, there were a few favourites.
"The Rooftop Express was extremely popular as was the good old demolition derby," Mr Burtenshaw said.
"We had a snake man and an animal farm and it was very popular with the children.
"The Campdraft was on which is something we thought we weren't able to get and we were able to get that at the last minute and that was a very popular event."
Overall, Mr Burtenshaw was grateful that all the hard work culminated in a very successful show.
"We knew we were going in at a very hard time and we couldn't have asked for a better result but that's thanks to everybody's hard work and the commitment from not only our committee and our helpers and stewards but also from the town itself," he said.
"They've obviously got behind it with their sponsorship and all the people coming along.
"If nobody comes, all that work was for nothing. We had a lot of people come and that's as much as you can ask for."
