Inverell Shire Council is inviting all residents to a community meeting next week, to help prepare a submission to the NSW government's independent inquiry into the 2019-2020 bushfire season.

Held on Wednesday, March 18 at Inverell Town Hall, council is hosting the meeting to gather input to the inquiry, with all residents encouraged to attend to share their experiences during the bushfire season.
Residents can speak about their experience on the causes and factors contributing to the bushfire season including load and human activity, what can be done to control the spread of fires and prepare for future threats, hazard reduction and clearing, the safety of first responders, communication with the public as well as the use of appropriate Indigenous fire management practices.
Tenterfield hosted a similar meeting last month, with another stop in Glen Innes in Monday before Inverell gets its turn next week.
Each speaker will be allowed a maximum of five minutes and they are asked to pre-register by calling council on 6728 8288.
People are invited to arrive at the meeting at 5.30pm for a 6pm start. Light refereshments will be available.
