Inverell Eisteddfod Society president Jo Cowley said the new Government regulations in regards to indoor events and the importance of considering the health and safety and well being of competitors, families, adjudicator and volunteers, the committee made a decision to postpone.
"The new proposed dates are September 21, 2020 to October 5, 2020. These dates will be divided up for Dance, Music, Speech & Drama.
"We understand you will all have many questions but we thought it was important to let everyone know as early as possible that we have made a decision to postpone.
"Our decision to postpone and not cancel is to give the competitors something to look forward to and continue working towards and our committee will endeavour working towards this goal."
More information will be released with specific details such as entry and refunds when the committee is able to meet again.
