Inverell's Casey Trevithick was announced New England Training Awards Vocational Student of the Year at the prestigious Training Services NSW event.

The Inverell student, who completed a Certificate IV in Community Services, was one of five TAFE NSW winners of the awards announced via Facebook live.
Casey thanked her teachers who she said were supportive and ensured she was equipped with all practical skills needed in the workplace.
"It's incredibly humbling to win this award. It goes to show if you put your mind to something you can achieve it," she said.
TAFE NSW regional general manager, Kate Baxter said the strong showing by TAFE NSW finalists for the six award categories was testament to their commitment to excellence in their chosen field.
"It's wonderful to see Casey getting the job-ready skills at TAFE NSW needed for a successful career in the health services industry," Ms Baxter said.
"Employers look for practical and hands-on experience and that is something Casey now possesses by studying at TAFE NSW. This is a great result for Casey and I have no doubt she will go on to be a great ambassador for the region and her industry.

The NSW Training Awards celebrate the excellence of apprentices, trainees and students undertaking vocational education and training.
The winners from the New England Training Awards will be interviewed and considered for the NSW Training Awards which will are planned to be held in Sydney later this year.
