Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions from next week on the Gwydir Highway at Inverell to carry out important maintenance work on Ross Hill Bridge.
Work will involve inspections under the bridge and cleaning.
To minimise impacts to motorists, one lane of the bridge will be closed overnight, with alternate traffic flow arrangements in place.
The closure will take place between 7pm on Monday, July 6 and 5am on Tuesday, July 7 and again between 7pm on Tuesday, July 7 and 5am Wednesday, July 8 weather permitting.
A short section of Brae Street from the intersection between Urabatta Street and the Gwydir Highway, and a section of Byron Street between Campbell and Otho streets, will also be closed while the work is carried out.
Alternative routes are available and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Traffic control and a reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
