Inverell police were called to reports of an alleged intoxicated and aggressive male in Bukkulla Street, Ashford on Monday.

When officers arrived, at around 11.15pm, a 42-year-old male was identified as being wanted for an alleged domestic violence related assault at Tweed Heads.
Upon being placed under arrest the male resisted and a scuffle ensued. He was eventually subdued with the use of oleoresin capsicum (OC) spray.
The man was conveyed to Inverell Police Station, charged with common assault relating to domestic violence and resist police. He was bail-refused overnight.
Appearing before Moree Local Court on Tuesday via AVL, he was remanded in custody to appear at Inverell Local Court on September 10.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old female returned a mid-range breath analysis after being stopped by police on Friday evening.
Officers were patrolling the Gilgai area at around 10.30pm when a white Toyota Hilux was sighted travelling along Bundarra Road in a northerly direction containing four people.
The vehicle was stopped for the purposes of a random breath test. The female was subjected to a roadside breath test which proved positive.
The Inverell woman was conveyed to Inverell Police Station to undergo a breath analysis which returned a mid-range reading.
She issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice to appear at Inverell Local Court on August 20 for the offence of drive with mid-range PCA second offence and issued with an immediate license suspension.
