With COVID-19 restrictions in place, the gala day was held across two grounds - the Inverell Sporting Complex and Inverell Rugby Park - as well as a morning and afternoon session to split up the games.
"It was quite a different carnival but it was good," Inverell Junior Rugby Club president James Roger said.
"Everyone got lots of footy and we had a good level of attendance."
Scores won't kept in the games throughout the day, but Roger said all the Inverell sides played some good rugby.
"Obviously when you've got boys they'll be keeping the score no matter what you do," he laughed.
"I saw most of the age groups, they definitely went really well. They were very competitive."

After a long hiatus that was broken with the first gala day of the season in Narrabri on July 26, all the players were excited to get back out onto the field.
"From the club's point of view, I guess our objective was to get people out on the pitch which we did," Roger said.
"We also had a canteen at both venues and we definitely made enough money to put a smile on our face which was good.
There was plenty of help on the day, with some senior club members, including Inverell Highlanders president Louise Wilson, helping out with the under-6s.
Roger said there was no major issues to arise with all the changes made due to COVID-19, with everyone chipping in and helping out where they could.
"More volunteers were required because we had to have a Covid manager at each venue and effectively on each field, but people were generally very accommodating and we didn't have any problems," he said.
It was great. We had heaps of volunteers and they helped so that was good.
"We didn't have any major injuries on the day...a lot of tired boys and girls at the end of it.
"It was a great day...uneventful in that we had lots of footy and not too many problems."
The next gala day will be held in Gunnedah this Sunday, August 9.
