As well as a thorough screening process, anyone entering McLean Care facilities, including staff, must wear masks to protect residents and clients.
Chief executive Sue Thomson said infection control practices, along with enforcing social distancing and controlled visitor management within residential services, has been invaluable to keep residents and staff safe.
"Due to the developing COVID-19 situation in south east Queensland, we have moved to reduce face to face visits to our Queensland facilities, Yallambee Millmerran and CWA House Oakey.
"This has been done with the support of residents, families, the local community and Queensland State Government and we continue to support our residents and their families to maintain contact in other ways during this time," she said.
The service has stated they will not hesitate to mirror the same action in consultation with residents and families across facilities in Inverell, Guyra and Gunnedah if COVID-19 cases are identified closer to those communities.

"We are witnessing the catastrophic outcomes for older people in Victoria and our residents, clients and our communities deserve nothing less than everything we can possibly do to protect them," she said.
Ms Thomson thanked everyone who had cooperated, respected and understood McLean Care's changes and restrictions enforced during COVID-19 so far.
"We are living in a totally different world and the way we live our lives is also different. I am extremely proud of our people and their cooperation as they prioritise the care of our residents and clients above all else."
McLean Care continues to have zero confirmed cases of the virus in any of their facilities across NSW and QLD due to the careful management and strict adherence of their screening procedures of staff and visitors.
"This pandemic is far from over and the recent outbreaks in Victoria and parts of NSW and QLD confirm the importance of our vigilance and unwavering stance in keeping our residence, clients, staff and communities safe," she said.
