After leaving Yetman Tex headed to a property called "Wilga" at Bellata where he started school, but was unable to finish due to loss of sight in one eye.
Lloyd and his brother Eric were often known to go to the monthly balls at both Bellata and Edgeroi.
This is where he met his fire wife Helen. After some years they were married on June 11, 1960.
Lloyd's next adventure was into share farming at "Garthowen" Turrowan and "Milton Vale" on Kaputar Road where his first two children were born.
Upon moving to town, he purchased a truck and started carting wheat. At this time his third child was born. Lloyd got a job as a mechanic at Auscott- a cotton property which also was a processing plant where he worked on two-row cotton pickers.
Auscott flew him to America to be trained up on the new four-row cotton pickers. Lloyd then opened his own trucking and mechanic business where he met his second wife Denise.
The pair sold the business and retired in 1998. Lloyd and Denise moved back to the Inverell district, settling in Nullamanna for 18 months before purchasing a house in Gilgai.
This is where Lloyd resided until he passed away on April 11, 2020 at 3.50pm. A cremation took place on April 20, 2020.
