Bruce Anthony Coss appeared in court twice last week on one count of murder, charged with killing Darryn Royce Willis almost 10 years ago.
Coss is accused of killing Mr Royce after a night out at the Imperial Hotel in Bingara on December 10, 2010.
The case was first mentioned in Moree Local Court before acting magistrate Roger Prowse adjourned it to Inverell Local Court two days later.

The DPP has already certified the charge against Coss, and intends to proceed to the NSW Supreme Court on the long allegation against the now 49-year-old.
After the Inverell mention, Mr Prowse adjourned the case to next year, with Coss ordered to return to court in Moree in February.
He made no new bid for bail during the mentions of the case, and it was formally refused by Mr Prowse.
Coss has not been required to enter a plea.
Coss, who was arrested on October 25 last year, will remain in custody until his next court date.
Robert James Stonestreet was released from custody in August after spending close to 10 months behind bars, accused of covering up the 2010 murder.
Stonestreet is accused of one count of concealing a serious indictable offence of another. If found guilty, he faces up to five years' imprisonment, but he's not yet been required to enter a plea.
The DPP has certified the allegation against him, which is slated to return to court in Moree later this month for committal.
Strike Force Barca - the police operation that has been investigating Mr Willis' murder - arrested the pair after raids in October, last year.
Detectives allege Coss struck Mr Willis near his Bingara home, and killed him. He's then alleged to have dumped Mr Willis' body at an unknown location. His remains still have not been found.
New England detectives allege Stonestreet has key details on the general location of Mr Willis' remains.
