Mr Baird is responsible for Cam's Cause, a charitable organisation that raises money to support returned soldiers in honour of his late son who was killed in action in Afghanistan seven years ago.
His story was featured in a documentary watched by Zee Simpson earlier this year, and the 8-year-old was moved so much she donated her life savings to Cam's Cause.
This act inspired Mr Baird to name her as the Junior Ambassador of the Foundation, placing her alongside the seven notable senior ambassadors including General Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC.
Miss Simpson is passionate about the cause and says Cameron Baird is her hero.
On Remembrance Day she sold hand-crocheted poppies and since then, along with her two-year-old brother Jaxon, she has sold horse manure and working dog puppies to raise more than $700 for Cam's Cause.
