After receiving numerous 000 calls just before 2pm, Inverell Fire and Rescue went to Swan Street to find a house well alight.

The two storey building was engulfed in flames, with the roof being completely consumed.

Crew members quickly got to work trying to gain control over the inferno.

Over an hour was spent battling the blaze from outside before the flames eased enough to allow them to enter and extinguish it fully.

Despite their efforts, the house was completely destroyed. No one was reportedly injured.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing in collaboration with NSW Police.
