Inverell has sweltered through a hot and dry November, with the Inverell Research Centre recording its highest ever November maximum temperature.

On Monday, the last day of the month, the mercury climbed to a top of 39.6 degrees, according to the Bureau of Meteorology's Raglan Street station.
It was just below the record hottest November day, which was 39.8 back in 2014.
However, the Inverell Research Centre station recorded its highest maximum temperature ever, reaching 39.2 degrees on Monday.
Its previous record was also from 2014 when 38.6 degrees was recorded at the site.

The monthly mean maximum temperature in Inverell for November was 30.6 degrees - 3.3 degrees warmer than the average.
Just 23.2mm of rain fell throughout the month, only 24 per cent of the monthly average of 96.1mm.
While it beats last November's record low rainfall of just 10mm, this year's total is significantly lower than the previous drought years. In November 2018, 80mm fell, while 69.8mm was recorded in the month for 2017.
However, this year's rainfall is still well above the total of the past few years.
So far Inverell has recorded a total of 706.6mm this year, which is nearly times higher than last year's total of 241.2mm and more than 2018's 521.6mm total.
But, despite the dry November, the La Nina is still active which means more rain is forecast over the next few months.
The Raglan Street station in Inverell recorded 30mm of rain overnight on Thursday, following the forecasted storm.
More rain is expected over the coming days, with the BoM predicting an 80 per cent chance of showers on Friday afternoon or evening and possibly severe thunderstorms.
There's a medium chance of showers continuing on Saturday, Sunday and Monday before it clears up to a sunny day, with a pleasant top of 26 degrees on Tuesday.
