A member of North's list for the past three seasons after a year at the Western Bulldogs, the Launceston product's career has been hampered by injury so far with Saturday's match was the first time she's played three consecutive games.
The 21-year-old kicked two majors in the space of 30 seconds in the third quarter to notch her career-high goals tally and inspire a comeback after North trailed by 27 points at half-time.
Coach Darren Crocker praised the Tasmanian after the game.
"Daria Bannister really lifted and got us going," he said.
"It was on the back of us being able to get the game back on our terms. We addressed a couple of things at half-time. Collectively we regrouped."
The loss marked the first for the premiership favourites in nine matches and sees them sit at 2-1 for the year.
