Acting Inspector Cameron Paine assured the community his officers are investigating all reports of break ins and thefts, and said any information from the public is helpful, not matter how seemingly small.
"We treat all calls very seriously, and are working hard to find those responsible by investigating thoroughly," he told the Times.

He said unsecured cars and homes are proving irresistible for thieves, with unlocked homes or cars targeted "daily" across the Inverell township.
However his warning comes with a call out for the community's help.
"Noone knows their community better than you do, so if you see something out of place, let us know."
A majority of reported property crime relates to a lack of home and personal security, which the Acting Inspector called "disturbing".
"It is just not responsible to leave your home or vehicle unsecure and expect it not to be a target of criminals," he stated.
"Unfortunately we can no longer assume that living in a country town means being able to trust everyone. Personal and home security is important.
What's been targeted at the moment: easy to get items left in plain view. Wallets, handbags, phones, and keys which might give them later access to homes and vehicles "are extremely desirable at present".
"Unfortunately criminals are all too aware that most people are creatures of habit and leave their keys, wallets and handbags in the usual places - so make it harder by locking them away each night."
Police are currently following leads and are engaged in a number of strategies to catch the culprits, but need public cooperation. Part of that is to make reports immediately.
"Look out for your neighbours, and be extra aware of what is happening in your area," he said.
To report suspicious behaviour contact the Inverell Police Station on 02 6722 0599 or in an emergency please phone 000.
