Anzac Day commemorations will be 100 per cent bigger than last year, despite the popular march unable to go ahead.
Honorary secretary of the Inverell RSL sub-branch Rick Ellis said everyone was very much looking forward to the two services going ahead. Even after marching every single year except the last, Mr Ellis said the day would be just as special without it.
"At the end of the day it's about that connection," he said.
The dawn service and the 11am service will be going ahead, and while numbers have been capped inside a fenced perimeter with a QR sign-in required, people could still come along - as long as they adhered to the COVID-19 social distancing.
While different than Anzac events pre-pandemic, office manager Tracey Collins said she wouldn't be surprised if hundreds of people still came along. Yet they are taking no risks, making the tough decision, alongside police consultation, to forego not only the march, but Two-Up as well.
"The decisions made regarding all events held on ANZAC Day were made in consultation with governing and regulating bodies and with the health and safety of our members and veterans being our first and foremost priority," she said.
Illegal at any other time of the year, Mr Ellis said it was the right decision give how enthusiastic the game's participants can get.
"Most of our members and veterans fall into those high risk categories," Ms Collins said.
"So we have to make sure everything is safe for them to mark this day."
Wreath laying participants have also been limited.
"If your organisation wishes to lay a wreath we request that you do so either at the very conclusion of the Dawn or Main Service," Ms Collins said.
The public are able to attend the breakfast after the dawn ceremony at the RSM Club, where sign-ins are required.
Anyone unable to go are encouraged to mark a minute's silence, or stand for the 'Light Up the Dawn' at the end of their driveways.
