However Inverell Police Station's Acting Commander Cameron Paine said while locals were well behaved, highway patrolmen and general duties officers found it was the out-of-towners copping the most fines and loosing points.
"Disappointingly, we detected quite a few drivers committing safety related offences by not wearing seat belts and speeding," he told the Times.

"However the Easter weekend was a fairly incident free weekend as far as they can go."
On the roads, two people were charged with mid-range drink driving on Saturday afternoon, one on Auburn Vale Road leading from the dam.
He said police were out in force at the popular tourist destination, with Reflections Park Copeton Waters seeing over 10,000 people through their gates across the four days.

"We had a high presence of Highway Patrol in town, and also had police deployed to Copeton Dam, both on the water and around the park side and the Northshore," Acting Commander Paine explained.
Guest services and house keeping supervisor for Reflections Danielle Barrett said it was amazing to see the volume of people attending the park were "willing to do what they needed to do and have fun".

On the Northshore, over 800 camp sites had been booked out, and with a special evening of entertainment on Saturday night, having a police presence was welcomed.
