Christopher John Keely and Amanda Smith, both 19 and from Inverell, appeared for the first time at Inverell Local Court on Thursday.
Keely was charged with entering the old convent's property without permission, destroying or damaging property - by breaking a window to get in, and aggravated break and enter in company - accompanied at the time by Smith.
He plead guilty to all three charges.

Keely's representative solicitor Mandy Mackenzie requested the court to order a full sentencing assessment report, as there were underlying mental health issues at play in Keely's offending.
"Given the nature of the offences, it would be helpful to the court," she explained.
Magistrate Kemp agreed, and also made note of the compensation request for $702.90 that had been submitted.
After the sentencing date was set, Ms McKenzie brought the matter up a short time later to request a change in Keely's AVO conditions, one of which barred him from entering the Inverell CBD.
She said it prevented him from buying food and essential items.
Given his admission of guilt and his previously clean criminal history, the magistrate agreed to remove the condition.
His co-accused Smith appeared on bail, and plead guilty to one charge of breaking and entering in company, steal value not exceeding $60,000.
Her bail was continued with the conditions - not associate with the co-accuseds and a curfew of 8am to 8pm - remaining unchallenged.
Both Keely and Smith will appear on May 27 for sentencing.
Magistrate Kemp again ordered a full sentencing assessment for Smith to be presented on that day.
