It had been the ultimate goal for nigh on thirty years, but Inverell's Scott Hamilton has finally seen his bowling ambitions come to fruition.
For the first time, he won the Singles bowling at the Sporties Club Coca Cola Easter tournament.
In the second first, he also won the pair's bowling - which he reckons is the first time anyone has won both sections in the same competition.
"I've been playing bowls for close to 30 years now. I've played in the Easter tournament - which is a local tournament that we have each year - I've played in it for that many years, it's hard to remember!" he said.
But rather than his hard work preparing - of which he did plenty of - he attributed his success partly to "perfect timing".
"This time around, I think it was my concentration and my desire to win," he laughed.
"And plus a little bit of luck - bowls is a funny sport, that's what makes it so interesting, you can be playing well, but it may not work for you on the day you play.
"On the day it worked and I was victorious at the end."
And while there was certainly celebration on Saturday night, he said he kept it relatively tame to be in good form for the upcoming pair's final.
But he was still riding on that high for the game, and said that winning energy "definitely" helped him and partner Jeremy Budda-Dean, pictured with the Coca-Cola representative, take home another win.
Now, there's the next goal to kick.
"I'm very competitive - I strive to win in our club, at the zone and state events. That's the ultimate now - to play at a state level."
Now he's knocked the Easter tournament off his list, his sights are set on playing in for state.
He's been selected several times for state reserves, but just hasn't quite made it to the state team itself.
"I've won quite a few zone events over the years, never won a state event," he said.
"I've been part of the state reserve side for several years, been a part of the zone side, but it's that next step."
