A CRITICALLY injured motorbike rider has died in hospital, despite efforts to save him after a tragic crash at Inverell on Thursday.

The 20-year-old man was ejected from his motorcycle at the intersection of Urabatta Street and Bannockburn Road at Inverell, after reports his motorbike collided with a Mitsubishi Pajero.
He was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered critical head, hip and leg injuries and was rushed to Inverell Hospital by NSW Paramedics.
Shortly after he was flown to Gold Coast Hospital in a critical condition.
The 51-year-old male driver of the Pajero and a 21-year-old male passenger were not injured in the crash.

The driver was taken to Inverell Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
New England Police District officers established a crime scene and started an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
Police were notified that the 20-year-old motorbike rider died in hospital on Friday.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
